Lisa Flaxman
I am 42 years old and have three children ages 5, 8 and 11. Twelve years ago, I transitioned from being a lawyer to a mompreneur. Today, I am CEO of musiKids, Inc. (www.musikids.com); founder of musiKares; consultant; performer; and author of a collection of poetry, "Glances at Time: A Young Mother's Journey with Breast Cancer" and musiKonnections, an e-letter connecting the community. Over the last few years, I am proud to say that I have earned the following honors and awards: one of Maryland's Top 100 Women (2007),a Maryland Top Innovator (2007), and the first Women Business Owners of Montgomery County Sapphire Award (2006). I have had the pleasure of being interviewed on News Channel 8, Fox 5 Live "Where's Holly", Women with Vision (ClearChannel), Indiana University's "Sound Medicine" (NPR), Channel 9 news with Andrea Roane, and recently sang the weather on Channel 7 morning news. Best of all, I am home with my children after school and when they need me. How can I do so many things and still be there for my family? I have found the balance that so many people want. In the spirit of being a mompreneur, I have joined with another amazing mompreneur friend, Robin Thieme, to introduce mompreneurcoach.com.

You can either attempt to break someone else's glass ceiling, or build your own house. I am opting for the second option. I have two kids, ages 13 and 10, a black lab and a very supportive husband. We have a wonderful home in Kensington, MD. In addition, to being a proud business owner, I am proud of the work/life balance beam I am walking (sometimes teetering) upon. After many years of working for others, I started Kensington Business Solutions, LLC in October 2004. My business is focused on helping other small businesses weed through the complexities of both starting up and running a business. Since 2004, I am proud to have helped many small business to grow, overcome challenges and prosper. The vast majority of my businesses are focused on the Health and Wellness industry, a natural compliment to my general outlook on life. MomprenuerCoach.com is a natural progression for me. Many of my clients are Mompreneur's and I have been able to help them as I can assist you.
